Ministry
Bethesda Outreach Ministries has been serving people of all ages throughout the Newtown area of Sarasota since 1984.
Mission
Bethesda Outreach Ministries is breaking chains of bondage and destruction in the inner city, and affecting positive and lasting change in the lives of people in our community through the Gospel message and teachings of Jesus Christ.
Strategy
Bethesda Outreach Ministries provides programs that meet the spiritual, material, and social needs of people in our community. We have especially focused on the youth of our area because the well being of this segment of our community is so critical to its survival.
Neighborhood Youth Outreach
Bethesda Outreach Ministries has developed City Life Youth Ministry to reach the youth of our community. The life changing message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is applied in such a way as to help the young person develop a sense of dignity, self respect, and self worth. The practical way in which the Gospel is taught helps the youth to assume responsibility, to understand accountability, and to appreciate the value and the importance of getting a good education. City Life Ministry also provides recreation, social activities, and positive role models in an environment that promotes and encourages positive behavior.
S.T.O.P. (Student Training Opportunity Programs)
Bethesda Outreach Ministries' educational outreach to the youth of our community is through S.T.O.P. This program provides jobs, job braining, job placement, tutoring, career planning, help with scholarships and grants, banking and economic skills, family planning, and more. Aside from he obvious benefits of this program, the youth develops the values and life skills that are necessary to become responsible, productive, and successful adults.
Neighborhood Outreach to the Needy
Bethesda's neighborhood outreach to the needy allows us to share the Gospel and love of Jesus Christ by meeting the material needs of people in our community. We provide various services for elderly and disabled people, such as lawn care, window washing, etc., food for the hungry, toys and food for needy families at Christmas time, and various other community services.
